Le Festival Berlioz opus 14 will explore the inevitable theme of LOVE. The most magic and romantic pieces will be played by famous orchestras and young talents in Berlioz's native town for more than 10 days.
Since 1994, we have paid tribute to the town’s most famous son and to other romantic and talented composers.
Open to every music lover, experienced or novice, the Berlioz Festival organizes about twenty concerts per year featuring famous symphonic orchestras, recognized soloists and intimist chamber ensembles. Making a point of promoting young promising talent, the festival offers a dream program composed of famous classical works revisited, first productions and unknown works. The 2007 edition will be launched on 23d August with a free concert by a selection of the Festival Academy (16 – 24 August 2007) musicians in the streets of La Côte-Saint-André. This year, the Festival will welcome well-known orchestras such as the Orchestra Synfonica della RAI, La Chambre Philharmonique – Emmanuel Krivine, Les Musiciens du Louvre ° Grenoble, the Orchestre National de Lyon, ... Young artists will enrapture the public with their youth and passion. Let us just give you a few names : Emmanuel Rossfelder, Alexandra Soumm, Caroline Sageman, Philippe Giusiano, Françoise Masset... It is quite impossible to mention all the guests; we invite you to discover them in the following pages. Lots of partners join us to suggest exhibitions and sightseeing tours. The Festival Academy, which attracts more and more members, has largely developed. A new summer season is beginning at the Louis XI Castle and we wish it musical and friendly.
