« The program is rich, and the orchestra is plethoric - six flutes ! - the Hector Berlioz European Youth Orchestra (JOEHB) plays on the nineteenth century instruments. They prepared the concert with the musicians of Les Siècles who supervise them tonight and they all play under the direction of the Berlioz specialist maestro François-Xavier Roth (...) he infuses energy and flexibility to a surprisingly responsive orchestra. »
ResMusica - August 29, 2017
« Some 120 singers and 130 musicians, including 10 timpanists, have pooled their forces for a première, a performance of the Berlioz Requiem on period instruments. Tremendous proportions for a masterpiece that is itself no less tremendous (...) The hushed ending extends into a long, contemplative silence, broken by the cheering of a standing ovation. A historic concert. »
